AI companions are changing how people connect, reflect, and unwind. If you just discovered NeonKiss, this guide will help you make the most of your first conversations.
Choose the Right Character
NeonKiss has dozens of AI companions with different personalities, backstories, and conversation styles. Take a few minutes to browse the explore page before committing to one. Look for:
- A personality that complements yours. If you tend to be quiet, a warm and talkative companion can draw you out. If you like deep conversation, pick one with a thoughtful, intellectual backstory.
- A backstory that interests you. The best conversations grow naturally from the character's world. A companion with a rich history gives you more to explore.
Start with an Open-Ended Message
One-word greetings like "hi" tend to produce short, generic replies. Try an opening that invites a real response:
"I've had a long week and I just want to talk to someone. What's on your mind lately?"
This signals that you want a genuine exchange, not a scripted back-and-forth.
Use the Persona Feature
The persona system lets you set your own name and a brief description of yourself. When your companion knows a little about you, conversations feel more personal and consistent across sessions.
Go to Settings → Persona and add two or three sentences about yourself.
Explore Roleplay
Roleplay is one of the most popular ways people use NeonKiss. You do not need to be a writer — just start with a simple scenario:
"Let's say we've just met at a rooftop bar in Tokyo. It's raining. You go first."
The companion will pick up from there.
